Sweet Pete’s

Aug 17, 2010

A new candy shop opened in my area and IT IS GLORIOUS. LIKE SERIOUSLY.

Nearly everything they sell is to die for, and they make this sea salt caramel that is mother frickin’ heavenly. This coming from someone who thought they disliked caramel! I wasn’t even surprised at the time, my taste buds felt too good to question it.

So, if you’re ever in Jacksonville, check out Sweet Pete’s. It really, truly, honestly rocks my socks. And I wasn’t paid to say that, I swear it.

I’ll get some more pictures of the place and post them later hopefully, it’s really nice both inside and out.

I am such a sucker for the animated Disney films of the 90s (and early 2000s). I recently took a trip to Disney World (maaaybe I’ll blog about that later) and I’ve had Disney on the brain ever since. I think that many people wonder when I’ll grow out of liking Disney films, but the thing is you’re never to old for a quality movie, no matter its “target” audience. Besides, The Lion King is a masterpiece and if anyone tries to tell me otherwise we will have words. For that matter, so are Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, and I’m-sure-other-movies-which-I’ve-failed-to-name.

Oh yeah! The Hunchback of Notre Dame. That was SO glorious.

I watch these movies now, and get just as worked up as when I was six. No joke. Take a look at my Zune, it should have an inscription on the back that says “For Disney show tunes”.

Forgot Hercules. That was the best.

If you haven’t seen any of your favorite Disney flicks since you were ten, then stop trying to act like you’re oh so mature and pop in 101 Dalmatians, I bet it’s better than you remember. Much like the saying “Real men wear pink”, “Real adults watch Toy Story“.

So excuse me, I have a lazy weekend to spend with Princesses, Lions, Greek Gods, and Aliens.

And the Chinese army can tag along too. But only if they bring the along the Bells of Notre Dame.
